Cross Country Trip (Day 41) – Grand Haven, MI

With Family & Friends

A week ago we made it to Grand Haven, Michigan. Not only is this where I grew up, but my Grandma, Grandpa, Dad and I all started our lives on the same block. It’s a small town on Lake Michigan, that everyone loves! In the winter it’s full of snow, but in the summer it’s full of vacationers from Western Michigan.

We are staying at Tanglefoot Park, which is owned by the Village of Spring Lake. It was created in the first half of the 20th century before all the 5th wheels and the big rigs with their slide-outs. Needless to say, the RVs and trailers are jammed in, so much so that you need to park your vehicles on the street outside the park.

Our little Casita trailer packed in among all the bigger rigs!

However, we’re only one block behind downtown Spring Lake, maybe two miles from downtown Grand Haven, and parked right on the Grand River. It’s a great location with sidewalks allowing Fay to do her walking all around town.

Things are squeezed in a bit at the campground, but our morning coffee view is great!

Our time here has been filled mostly with visiting cousins and old friends. We have another week here, then begin our descent back to Florida.
